Interesting videos and article on creativity and courage!

I know what you say is the truth. My creative side was crushed, sunk into a dark hole, by a gestapo-like mother as a small child. Then later in life the submarine tried to surface time and time again. I was afraid of the child in me who needed to tell her story. I wrote her story, reluctantly, and found a part of me that was so sad and yet so beautiful and inspiring.

Creative/therapeutic writing has the power to release one from fear and ignorance, I know.

Thank you for sharing your videos with me.

Great article. I've been thinking of creativity and courage myself.
There can by one fear or another that sneaks in unannounced. The old 'fear of failure', fear of rejection or criticsm.
My personal fears have been 'idea failure'; seeing a cherished idea become a bad idea. Or 'fear of disruption'; not being confident that the world won't stay away for a few uninterrupted hours, so I can actually create something.
What tends to give me the most courage is still the power of the idea. The curiosity of exploring it's possibilities. The daydreams an idea can evoke. The idea drowns out any fears most of the time.
At the very least, fear of medicrity gives me the courage I need.

I enjoy this. It is said that Einstein was no better than his contemporaries but only in boldness.

I also have a post on courage.

Found this insightful and something that I want to share. That as adults we view this differently, something wrong, a sign of weakness maybe, turn away from. But I know I have experienced the most happiness and stability while I have been working on something that touches my heart, eye and mind at the same time, especially if I can touch it. Even writing, always with paper and pen, lots of scrawls, notes, moving, drawing, redrafting, and reading to myself and aloud. Just being enveloped in the process levels and ultimately the fear drives me. Don't think this is understood by many of the people who work with me.
