Real success – Jack Canfield on making a living doing what you love to do

Jack CanfieldContrary to how it may seem when you’re stuck in an unsatisfying work environment, a job could actually be the context for expressing your talents as fully as you can.

Human potential author Jack Canfield (The Success Principles) thinks “What often stops people from expressing their true desire is that they don’t think they can make a living doing what they love to do.

“‘What I love to do is hang out and talk with people,’ you might say. Well, Oprah Winfrey makes a living hanging out talking with people. And my friend Diane Brause, who is an international tour guide, makes a living hanging out talking with people in some of the most exciting and exotic locations in the world.”

“My sister loves to design jewelry and hang out with teenagers. Donald Trump loves to make deals and build buildings. I love to read and share what I have learned with others in books, speeches, and workshops.”

“It’s possible to make a living doing what you love.”

He advises, “Make a list of 20 things you love to do, and then think of ways you can make a living doing some of those things.”

Great ideas…on an age-old topic that never gets old. Thanks for inspiring me to grapple with it again on a new level of intensity… I’m still doing what I love but I need to do it more and figure out the money part more cleverly! Many thanks.

    Hey Douglas,
Jack Canfield is one of my favorite author and trainer. Knowing what you want is very important and having a big dream.
    Thanks

I spent a good half hour on this site, looking for a ‘contact’ person… Hoping to find a group/blog/online community to connect with for “HSP’s.” Would love to connect with people going through the same type of thing b/c it helps to have that understanding and support. I cannot afford a life coach. I am a writer and artist and some of the stuff on this site hits the nail on its head. Can someone please let me know of an online community that might exist where people who are highly creative and sensitive can meet? Thanks.
