I can still call up my perfectionistic tendencies when the situation calls for it — detail-checking a web site or print document I’ve designed, or ensuring that I am saying exactly the words printed in the script, rather than “close is good enough” (I was trained to respect the playwright’s words and not to change them without a very good reason). But I’m much better about not requiring everything I do to be perfect; in my view, life’s too short not to relax, have fun, and enjoy myself.
