Are people fascinated by so much in the world because of their
intellectual development, or does consciously feeding our mind
stimulate high level thought and creative ability? Steve Pavlina, for example, writes, "Leonardo da Vinci, considered a genius by any reasonable standard,
achieved competence across a diverse set of fields, including art,
music, science, anatomy, engineering, architecture, and many others. While some would argue that such wide-ranging interests were a result
of his intelligence, I think it’s more likely that they were the cause
of it—or at least a major contributing factor."Might as well use them if you’ve got them!

By Yee-Ming Tan, Positive Psychology News Daily -- Do strengths translate well to workplaces in China? I run positive leadership workshops in Shanghai and Hong Kong, and recently came across an experience in which the strengths-approach was challenged. Often
a good debrief is required before the individuals can fully make sense
of what to do with his or her strengths.Creative people in Hollywood

And so
creative people tend to make the
audience, a studio, their agent into a parent figure that they have to
constantly appease or impress to maintain the connection, the emotional
tie... You kind of do and you don’t [have to have a really big ego]... A friend of mine said, talking about writers, they’re egomaniacs with low
self-esteem.Learned helplessness, mojo and serenity

"Don't compromise yourself. You're all you've got." Janis Joplin // One form of compromise is learned helplessness - an emotional and behavioral response
in which a human being (or other animal) has learned to "give up" or
act as if they are helpless, and loses motivation to act in their own best interest in a situation, even when they may really have the power to
change that circumstance - or at least their reactions to it.

Change Your Life in Mirrors

You
may be the most honest person in the world with
others, but we all tend to have the hardest time admitting the most
difficult truths to ourselves. We're of course not setting out to
sabotage ourselves. Most of the time we are not even aware that we are
lying to ourselves, or denying the truth, until things really come to a
head (i.e., until things get messy, frustrating, really tense, etc.)
And
of course we therefore DO sabotage ourselves by never admitting - never
facing - the truth.

By
Dean Keith Simonton, PhD -- So
creativity overlaps with intelligence when you are talking about little
c creativity. But
when you are talking about "big C creativity," you're talking about
being able to generate new ideas, generate some kind of product that's
going to have some kind of impression on other people... a concrete,
discrete product that is original and serves some kind of adaptive
function. And
that kind of creativity, that big c creativity, involves a whole bunch
of other characteristics besides intelligence.

Positive thinking takes an immense amount of effort and, for most people, it doesn't even work! It only covers the negative thoughts with positive ones and can still
leave you crying on the inside. Remove
them by letting go of your limiting thoughts, feelings and beliefs and
your thinking, feeling and life experience will be a thousand times
more positive.
