The ability to entrain brain wave patterns opens up an exciting world of mind-boggling possibilities. Researchers in neuroscience could not contain their excitement. "It’s difficult to try to responsibly convey some sense of excitement about what’s going on," said UCLA neurophysiologist John Kiebeskind. "You find yourself sounding like people you don’t respect. You try to be more conservative and not say such wild and intriguing things, but damn! The field is wild and intriguing. It’s hard to avoid talking that way...We are at a frontier, and it’s a terribly exciting time to be in this line of work"

In this post I want to examine one nuance of this yearning for a better quality of life, something that has fascinated me for a number of years. You could call this, “Why the Rich Get Richer and the Poor Get Poorer,” or “Learned Helplessness.” Let me explain what I mean.

Our purpose here is to help people understand at a much deeper level what Eckhart Tolle and Oprah have been sharing and some of the related ideas and practices that might come out of this.

Since where you are in the developmental process has a huge affect on the way you make sense of the world, and to a great degree determines your ability to successfully navigate your life, understanding development can greatly help you take charge of your life.

Understanding how the developmental process works will accelerate your mental, emotional, and spiritual growth. It will expand your awareness of who you are, where you’ve been, and where you’re going (or at least, could be going).

Unless you can be aware of something (which is what cognition is all about) you can’t be moral about it, feel something about it, create art about it, develop faith around it, organize a self around it, or develop in any other way regarding it.

Did you know that meditators have dramatically better mental health? They have less anxiety, anger, depression, and fear, and they have better human relationships, more friends, and feel much more fulfilled in their lives? Holosync CD programs facilitate meditative awareness and stress relief.

Though you’re probably not aware of them, certain internal thinking processes (what I call your Internal Map of Reality) generate several key aspects of your life: 1) nearly all of your internal feeling experiences, 2) your behaviors, and 3) the people and situations you attract into your life, or become attracted to.
