The Humility in True Genius
- By David R. Hawkins
- Published 10/7/2008
- Spirituality , Creativity enhancement
The process of creativity and genius are inherent in human
consciousness. Just as every human has within himself the same essence
of consciousness, so is genius a potential that resides within everyone
-- it simply waits for the right circumstance to express itself... Genius and creativity are subjectively experienced as a
witnessing; it's the phenomenon that bypasses the individual self or
ego.
Progress and Cycles

Are you concerned with the progress you are making in your development
of consciousness, or in your spiritual journey. When you see yourself
not ‘making progress’ do you think there is something wrong or that you
are failing? And when you are ‘making progress’ do you usually have a
pride of achievement? – perhaps a sign that you have not attained the
assumed state of consciousness or enlightenment. In fact, pride of
achievement is antithetical to the soul journey.

-- We lead very busy lives these days, and our attention is pulled in so
many directions. It is so easy to walk through our lives absolutely
asleep. This lack of awareness and the tendency to put the computer of
our minds on auto-drive, helps create life situations that are not
pleasant, not beautiful... That is where the retreats and journeys
enter into the picture! You get to experience life in a totally
different way to see with different eyes.
Spirituality and the Highly Gifted Adolescent

"Writing about
spirituality
and highly gifted adolescents is a daunting task. It has often been
said
that individuals at the high end of the intellectual continuum vary
from
each other more than any other group, regardless of age. Extreme
variation
is true for abilities, passions, personality, temperament,
social/emotional
issues and life experience. It may be especially true about
spirituality,
which partakes of all those other differences and is so fundamentally
personal."

& inanimate has within it a spirit dimension and communicates in
that
dimension to those who can listen." // "I felt the mystery that was
unfolding
my life to me. I mused: 'What is a fat little Jewish boy from southwest
Washington, DC, doing at this ancient holy place at the edge of the
world,
immersed in Hopi and Navajo religion and healing?'"
Losing Yourself in the Divine: Creativity as a Spiritual Practice

By Lucia Capacchione, Ph.D., A.T.R. --
When you create you lose
yourself in your creation. Time seems to stand still and
all else is forgotten. You participate in the divine
play that is creativity. These moments offer a glimpse
of who you really are: a being fashioned in the image
and likeness of God. Like the source of all creation,
you are a creator, too. It is your divine birthright.
The person who says "I'm not
creative" is uttering blasphemy. The truth is that
you are the Creative Self expressing through the human
vessel of your body, emotions, mind, and soul.
Creativity flows through you as a universal life force,
called by many names throughout the ages: chi, prana,
shakti, the Holy Spirit. It is this energy of love
flowing through you that also gives life to your
creations.

As
we go deeper
into the field of awareness, we encounter the mutable, seemingly
paradoxical
nature of the structure of the inner world and our movement through it,
going from trapped states to free states. What used to feel true now
feels
like it's just an old story, repetitious and confining.
Awareness,
we
begin to see, is less and less interested in the known than it is in
exploring
how life could be experienced in the vast unknown of now.
