Lynne Azpeitia, MA

"People are capable of being expressive, but often they are interfered with or misinterpreted in these areas. So my job is to help them identify when they are in that fluid and creative state, and help them look at how they got there, and on purpose how to make those things happen. That's the best part of what I do." She is a licensed therapist in Santa Monica, California, and may be reached at 310.828.7121 or 626.797.1052

Andrew Mahoney - Counselor and family therapist - "It really all comes back to their identity as gifted people," he says. "It comes back to their being able to see themselves as gifted within the systems that tell them who they are -- their family, their schools, their community. Their giftedness is a variable in their identity, and for a counselor to ignore that is to ignore a key part in the puzzle they're trying to piece together." [website]

Kathleen Noble, Ph.D.   Seattle, WA ......  [interview]

"I am a licensed psychologist in WA state with a small independent practice specializing in the psychological growth
of gifted women and men. I am also a Research Associate Professor of Women Studies at the University of Washington
and the Assistant Director of the Early Entrance Program at UW, a program through which highly capable young students can skip high school and enter the UW at the ages of 13-15.

In addition to extensive clinical experience with the psychosocial issues affecting gifted adults and adolescents, I've written two books and numerous articles about these issues. My books are "The Sound of a Silver Horn: Reclaiming the Heroism in Contemporary Women's Lives", and "Remarkable Women: Perspectives in Female Talent Development". This latter is a collection of 25 studies about giftedness across a wide variety of geographic, ethnic, socioeconomic, and talent domains which I editted with two colleagues, Rena Subotnik and Karen Arnold.

I have a special interest in resilience, and particularly in the way in which powerful spiritual experiences can promote psychological well-being."

Annette Revel Sheely***associated with the*Gifted Development Center

"I got my B.A. (emphasis: psychology) from Antioch University. I have an M.A. from Pepperdine University in Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in counseling. My internships include counseling experience with: abused children at an L.A. County Courthouse, HIV infected patients, their families, and the worried well, at AIDS Project Los Angeles, senior citizens at the Senior Health and Peer Counseling Center in Santa Monica , at-risk teenagers at a high school in Santa Monica, and domestic abuse survivors for Sojourn in Santa Monica.

I moved to Denver to work under the supervision of Dr. Linda Silverman at the Gifted Development Center. I also see clients in Boulder. I do assessments for children, adolescents and adults, using the Wechsler tests (WISC-III and WPPSI-R) and Stanford-Binet IQ tests- including the Form L-M, which is useful in identifying highly gifted individuals.

My areas of interest are: the emotional and psychological needs of gifted children, adolescents, and adults; the special issues of gifted girls; the highly gifted; and assessment of the gifted. My current research includes a study of scores of the WISC-III and the Stanford-Binet, Form L-M, to identify the highly gifted."

Change beliefs, ideas, and habits that are no longer working... Carl Jung said, "That which we do not confront in ourselves, we will meet as fate." "So oftentimes it happens that we live our lives in chains and we never even know we have the key"
The Eagles, from their song Already Gone

Change means transformation in all areas of your life -- psychological, emotional, physical, mental, spiritual,
energetic, in short, your mind, body and soul -- I help you accomplish this by identifying specific issues and
problems and finding appropriate solutions. Ralph Waldo Emerson once said, "Make the most of yourself for that is all there is of you."
