Brittney Exline, 15, going to Ivy League university

Brittney Exline, 15, is graduating from high school three years early. In the fall she’ll head to the University of Pennsylvania to study political science and chemical engineering. Brittney is the youngest African American female ever accepted to an Ivy League school.

The level-headed student is taking the changes in her life in stride, “Some people would think that being 15 and going off to college is a big deal, but I’ve been with my class here so long, I’m just as mature as any other senior who’s 18.”

Congratulations to Brittney.

A university experience can be positive for many - but for some people, it can be a less than ideal context for being exceptional and nurturing one’s talents.

Einstein was expelled from school [in 1894] for “undermining the authority of his teachers and being a disruptive influence.”

Most public schools may not have advanced much since then for recognizing and nurturing people with exceptional talents.
